Update 12 July 2019

It’s been a while since we’ve talked, I know.  I’m sorry about that.

I have been and still am hard at work on my next story in the “Introductions to the Darklands” series.  Currently, the rough draft is around 44k words and nearly complete.  I expect it to end up around 50k.  That’s a very long novella (in fact, it’s creeping up on full-fledged novel territory).

Even after I complete the rough draft, I anticipate a few weeks of editing, plot hole fixes, etc. before it’s ready to publish.  I have to be careful with this one because it has a lot of moving parts.  It features much more complex characters than “Built to Last” did and a much more complex storyline.  Whereas BTL was a more linear story about a machine carrying out a set of murderous commands, this new story is about humans with all of their complexities, needs, traumas, fears, and flaws.  To further complicate things, this story features two primary conflicts, each with its own protagonist and its own antagonist.  It’s really two stories intertwined into one.

I’m very excited to bring this story to you, but I’m also a little nervous.  While a story like this has so much potential to be amazing, it also has SO MUCH potential to go horribly wrong.  I’m not going to rush it, because I want it to be as amazing as I feel it can be.  I want it to be as amazing as YOU deserve for it to be.

I’m working on a cover for “Introductions 2” (and yes, a proper title), but here is a sneak peak of the cover so far.

I deserve literally none of the credit for this beautiful cover.  If you like it as much as I do, please swing by the creator’s Pixabay page and check out her work.  If you REALLY like it, I invite you to click her “coffee” button and support her work.

Also, I’ve gotten a few requests for PDF copies of “Built to Last,” so I’ve provided a PDF download link on the BTL page.  Now, you can download, print, and even read the story directly from the website.  I think I’ll make this option available from day one with further story releases.  I didn’t originally think that anybody would want a PDF, but I stand corrected on that.  So, if you still haven’t read “Built to Last,” feel free to go to the download page here and click the “Download PDF” button for all that PDF goodness!
