This series is meant to give me the opportunity to flesh out my world and some of the characters who inhabit it. This is the process most writers call “prewriting.” Normally, writers don’t publish their prewriting. But I’ve been doing so much of it, and I’ve been having so much fun with it that I’ve decided to polish my prewriting, make it presentable, and release it as a series of short(ish) stories.
This is allowing me the opportunity to improve my writing, get feedback and explore the world of The Darklands before I commit to the greater projects I have in mind for this world. And yes, I have greater ambitions for this world. At present, I have FIVE book ideas taking place in The Darklands. Some of those book ideas may not see the light of day and others may evolve into multi-part series. I don’t know for sure yet.
What I do know is that it’ll be a fun journey, and I hope you will join me.
